Macaron Cube Cake

Ingredients
  • 1 (100-gram) chocolate bar of your choice
  • 36 Delizza Macarons
  • Decorations like gold leaf or birthday candles (optional)

    Equipment

  • Microwave
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Piping bag (optional)
Directions
  1. Break the chocolate bar into small pieces and place them into a microwave-safe bowl.

  2. Microwave the chocolate in 20-second increments, stirring the chocolate between each microwave round. Continue until the chocolate is completely melted.

  3. Optionally, for better control, transfer the melted chocolate into a paper cornet or piping bag.

  4. To create the layers of the macaron cake, arrange Delizza Macarons in an upright standing position. Place them in a 3-by-3 configuration, alternating the direction of the macarons. Ensure that the side of each macaron touches the top or bottom of the adjacent macaron.

  5. Once the macaron configuration is set, add a small dollop of chocolate between each macaron to secure them in place. Use a piping bag to discreetly place the chocolate in between the macarons for a neater appearance. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden completely before moving on.

  6. Repeat this process until you have 4 separate sets of macarons.

  7. To assemble the cake, add a small amount of chocolate to the tops of the first layer of macarons. Before the chocolate sets, rotate the second layer of macarons and place it on top of the first layer. Let the chocolate set before proceeding.

  8. Repeat the process to attach the third and fourth layers of macarons.

  9. Once completed, decorate the cake with additional design elements, such as gold leaf, edible flowers or candles.
