Bananas Foster Cream Puffs
Go bananas with flambé the Delizza way. Enjoy this unique take on Bananas Foster, made with our Belgian Mini Cream Puffs.
- 16 to 18 Delizza Belgian Mini Cream Puffs
- Whipped cream
- 2 medium bananas
For the Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 to 2 tablespoons spiced rum
Cut bananas into ½-inch slices. Set aside.
Combine butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Stir constantly until butter and sugar have combined and caramelized.
Carefully place banana slices in the sauce. Let them sit for about 1 to 2 minutes.
Flip the slices, and let them sit in the sauce for another minute.
Add spiced rum and carefully stir until the alcohol has burned off, for about 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Place Delizza Belgian Mini Cream Puffs onto a serving dish.
Top Belgian Mini Cream Puffs with whipped cream.
Using a fork or offset spatula, place each banana slice over the whipped cream. Drizzle additional sauce over the banana.
